Saturday
Eva was in Copenhagen for the last weekend in April! We had planned this visit of her and Hubert quite long ago – but now it was of course the perfect occasion to finalize our preps for the FoodFamily foodblog, cook together and – go online! When Eva arrived late Friday night, we had quite a long list of to-do’s, and ambitious plans for 2 days of cooking. One challenge of the weekend was to “survive” without oven – as our oven is currently striking and waiting to be fixed. On the positive side – the weather forecast for the weekend was great, offering a great chance to involve the guys – and Timo’s latest aquistion: a big Weber Gas BBQ. I prepped well and went food shopping – one thing was sure – we would not run out of food so quickly….
Here are a few “behind the scene” impressions of Day 1… the recipes will follow one by one in the coming week.
BBQ menu for the FoodFamily launch:
- Spiced Smoked Salmon – self-smoked on cedarwood-plank with lemon-yoghurt dip
- Grilled beef loin with Chimichurri
- Grilled beetroot salad with goat cheese
- Grilled pineapple sticks with chili-salt
It’s really fun to cook together… and this had of course to be celebrated with some drinks. Here a few pictures from behind the stove/grill.
Sunday
Sunday! Another cloudless and sunny day in Copenhagen. After being woken up by my little niece Lea and a refreshing seaside walk with the dog, we were ready to prepare the second menu for our blog launch.
Of course some preparations for the actual launch had to be done, so while our men lounged in the sun, we were busy composing our FoodFamily blog. Only a few hours left to go live!
Here´s another little preview of what we cooked on day 2, the recipes will follow very soon.
The menu: Racks of lamb and more!
